Richard Rowe
An MCA Commercially Endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore, 5 years RYA Instructor, almost 50,000 sea miles, Rich has been sailing & boating since the age of 5 and teaching since 1996, firstly as a secondary French teacher & year head, then 8 years as a private tutor. In 2009 he bought Sailing Jollies and ever since, has combined his love of sailing with his natural, patient and empathetic teaching style, assisting hundreds of people in developing their sailing skills, knowledge and ambitions. In 2021 he bought Seawolf and the In2wind business in Gibraltar, and is making it a huge success, with 60-75% returning guests every trip, surely an industry high.
Ruth Murray
Ruth Murray is absolutely the poster child for how sailing progression should be done. She was introduced to Rich by Trafalgar Sailing School in October 2021 to gain further training and experience after passing Day Skipper but lacking confidence. Since then she's clocked up over 6,000 sea miles, been around the Greek Peleponnese 9 times, sailed on around 24 boats with 7 different skippers, bought her own race yacht, "Bongani" and has begun skippering in her own right. She holds an MCA Commercial Endorsement on her Day Skipper licence, we all keep telling her she is ready for her Coastal or YM Offshore next!
Blair Scott
Blair is a highly skilled sailor and coach, a rare combination indeed. He's been sailing with Rich since 2018 and is a regular feature on the Greek Sailing Jollies circuit. He also runs his own sailing business, XP at Sea, with a swathe of delighted, returning clients. He is of course an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, commercially endorsed, and an RYA Instructor. His coaching style of stepping back and letting clients do just about everything is a very popular one, no doubt a spin-off from his 15 years' of high level training in other sports!
Vernon Perkins
Vernon has been one of our regular, experienced, established Skippers since 2019, following his first Jolly in 2016. He has RYA Coastal Skipper license and over 4,000nm on his log book, currently working toward YM Offshore qualifications. Also a great team member, who really gets the Jollies’ ethos. A very good coach, whose techniques include drawing on his dinghy racing experience where he competes throughout the UK. Vernon is always willing to learn and hone others’ experiences. Determined to always get the sails up and best trimmed as much as possible and enjoy the passage, whilst accommodating the crew’s wishes and goals, balancing time on the water with the beautiful locations and our famous social evenings.
Ken Jones
Ken Jones is our man when it comes to brokering yacht deals for our clients. Ken has many years of experience and owns STN yacht charters, he can arrange a bareboat or skippered charter for you on our behalf, monohull or catamaran, anywhere in the world.
