Malta - around Sicily
Our mid November mile building trip departs in Malta 16th of November and goes counter-clockwise around Sicily and surrounding islands. This trip of approximately 600Nm and is estimated to take between 7-8 days, weather permitting. With various stops along the way this should be a great late summer journey through the Mediterranean.Book your place
This Mediterranean Sailing Adventure / Mile Building trip of approximately 600Nm provide you with the opportunity to experience sailing a yacht over long distance passage and is a perfect opportunity to gain valuable Yacht master qualifying miles, 60 mile passages, night hours and endless opportunities to practice coastal navigation, passage planning and pilotage. The route will be sailed counter-clockwise around Sicily and surrounding islands. Departing from Malta, heading north along the eastern coasts of Sicily. Passing through the Straits of Messina, the course leads north to the Aeolian Islands and the active volcano of Stromboli where we turn west to the Egadi Islands then heading south for the island of Lampedusa. Finally heading northeast for the final leg back to Malta.

During the trip, everybody on board has the opportunity to progress with their own sailing skills at whatever level they are at. There will be an RYA qualified Instructor/Skipper on board, enabling you to draw on their knowledge. We will be running a 3 hour on-watch and 6 hour off-watch system enabling you to gain valuable night hours and we will give you the opportunity to fulfil skippered passages of over 60 miles which are all required to obtain your Yachtmaster/Coastal skipper qualification. There will be a maximum of 6 people onboard plus skipper for each leg, allowing 2 people to be on watch together.
Our ports of call along the way will all be weather dependent and everyone on board will be included in passage planning. It’s a great opportunity to expand with your sailing experience and enjoying this beautiful Mediterranean Sailing adventure.
